things to do…

(or not)

It’s your time to do whatever makes you happiest.

Whether you want to do a whole lot

of absolutely nothing,

or you love being an adventurist,

our islands have something for everyone.

Our friendly staff is happy to help coordinate your excursions,

and give you even more ideas of fun activities

on Praslin Island and other nearby islands.

This is St. Pierre Island.

It’s one of the most photographed islands in the world.

Most people will only ever see it in a book.

YOU - however,

can simply kayak yourself there

when you’re staying at Footprints.

Oh, and it’s the main island you’ll see from our beachfront property.

Grab one of our kayaks (they’re free for our guests) and your snorkel gear and head out for a day of sea-seeing and adventuring.

If you’re not feeling up for the exercise, you can always hire a local boat to take you there!

Some of the giant land tortoises here have lived to be up to 250 years old!

You’ll feel like a youngster amongst these ancient, gentle giants. They love being fed mushy fruits and leaves.

We have our very own gorgeous orchid garden on the Footprints property.

Our master gardener looooves getting creative with the plants here. Learn the local methods of getting orchids to thrive with coconut husks.

Want to go fishing?

You’re in the middle of the Indian Ocean, friend.

There are way more fish than people.

The Lost Garden of Eden

Endemic to the Seychelles Islands (particularly at the Valley de Mai on Praslin Island) is the world-famous coco de mer, the world’s largest coconut. Just like the best females, it takes about 40 years for just one coconut to reach maturity!

Here for romance or a honeymoon?

Everything is so beautiful and peaceful here on Praslin Island, it truly is a lover’s paradise. There are miles and miles of picturesque beaches for all your kisses and sunsets.

Here to do nothing?

One of the best things to do on holiday is to completely decompress from the hectic schedule of your normal life and just listen to the sounds of the ocean.
